Who ARE you?

First off: who I am not.  I'm not a health expert. I'm not promoting or selling anything.

I offer a brief glimpse of who I am in case it helps someone out there recognize some similarity in their own situation.

I'm a married mother of two elementary school aged children and a houseful of pets.  I'm turning 40 this year.  I'm a graduate student working on my master's degree in Library and Information Science.  I work in my town library in the Hudson Valley in New York doing a little bit of everything because someday I think I would like to be a library director.  My husband owns and runs a consignment store, and I help out there as needed.

Other than the health problems I describe here, I'm pretty healthy. I don't exercise as much as I would like to (or as much as I should) but I've always been on the thin side. Now that I've cut out dairy and gluten (and cut way down on sugars, fried foods and alcohol), I have to be conscious of adding fats where I can so that I don't get too thin. Please pass the avocado and bacon.

I love to cook and knit. I sing and paint and do calligraphy. Being in nature makes me feel better about almost everything.
